During his rally in Philadelphia Saturday evening, Trump dissed his former Chief of Staff General John Kelly by claiming his "sucker and losers" comments about soldiers who died in war was a lie. He must be worried about the erosion of support from veterans.
In September of 2020, Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic wrote an article describing Trump's refusal to go to Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris in 2018 to honor those who perished during war. Worried about how his hair would look, he said. “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers." Later he called those that died in battle "suckers."
Trump even has a hard time making sense of what happened and speaking coherently.
TRUMP: But they made up a "suckers and losers" statement so terrible. And my stupid people, when I wanted to refute it they said, "sir don't dignify it with a refutal refutal or a refutal what the hell word would that be refunneled, what they'll say,"he didn't know refunnel or refutal but they don't know either.
Refuted, you fucking idiot. Or rebuttal, which also escaped his hair brain. His audience of lemmings laughed.
TRUMP: "Sir it should not be dignified, sir," I said, well I gotta fight that that's a the worst thing you could probably say to me would be that. He said, "Sir, it's going nowhere." Three years later it still simmers and you know what anybody in the milit...oh now I fight I talk about it all the time because it doesn't make sense.
Nobody could say a thing like...you can't, even if you hated the military, you couldn't say that because it would be it would actually be dangerous. It would be it would be so bad nobody would say that. Uh and uh so now I speak about it all the time because these people are liars they make it up. It's, now on top of that you have AI, on top of that you now have AI.
I guess when the person was supposed to be speaking, it was his COS General Kelly. Kelly had a lot to say during his exit interview about the cockwobbler. Diminished Donald always makes up fake conversations to make him look like the aggrieved.
General Kelly also confirmed Trump's heinous words. Let's not forget what he said about John McCain, which also confirms his general attitude toward soldiers maimed, wounded or killed.
In response, Trump said Kelly was eaten alive by the pressure of the job.
