In what may be the most unhinged, insane thing he's said since launching his senseless war, President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform last night to express his frustration with not only "ABC Fake News'" reporting on his efforts to strike a deal with Iran, but with the Iranian people themselves, who he apparently thinks should "rise up and fight" this war with him.
Despite his vehement insistence that this conflict with Iran would barely last a week or two, Donald Trump's war with Iran has now fully surpassed its six-month mark, and even the mere concept of an end to the war isn't even a blip on the horizon.
Reports have confirmed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave an extensive presentation in the Situation Room on February 12th, in which he claimed that the country of Iran was ripe for a takeover, according to Israeli intelligence. According to reporting, Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the presentation "bullshit" the moment Netanyahu left the room.
Trump did it anyway.
Since launching his war just days later, on February 28th, Donald Trump has repeatedly tried and failed to strike a deal with Iran, as the country makes a complete and utter fool of him at every turn. He has continually claimed that Iran "badly" wants to cut a deal with him, yet they're refusing to negotiate at all, and they made quick work of spitting on the one deal Trump did manage to strike before the ink had even dried.
The war has effectively destroyed any semblance of travel through the Strait of Hormuz, despite Trump making outlandish claims that the vital waterway is now a "new US territory."
Last night, the president took to Truth Social following reporting from ABC News that he was still desperately trying to get Iranian leadership to strike a deal with him.
"I’m not trying to force Iran to the bargaining table, as ABC Fake News reported. I couldn’t care less if they sign a worthless, to them, agreement," Trump claimed in his Truth Social post. "I like our position now much better, with almost total control of the Hormuz Strait, and their economy totally collapsing. They are just playing out the inevitable."
But that wasn't his only gripe. Trump apparently seems to believe that the Iranian people should be revolting against their leadership and fighting on his behalf, adding in his post, "When are the Iranian people going to rise up and fight?"
Americans don't even want to be involved in this war. Yet leave it to Donald Trump to expect a country that he has quite literally waged WAR on to do his bidding.
