A new video of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is raising even more questions after the longtime senator appeared almost completely unresponsive as he was wheeled toward his vehicle.

Reporters repeatedly tried to get a response from McConnell, but he offered none. Instead, he slowly raised a hand in a peace sign before pausing as his car door opened.

“Do you want to be at work, sir? Would you rather be home?” conservative journalist Desiree Townsend asked, but McConnell did not, or could not, reply. Instead, as he's done before since re-emerging into public life, he simply held up a peace sign.

The bizarrely silent encounter is the latest in a string of public appearances that have prompted renewed attention to McConnell’s increasingly limited interactions with reporters.

For a senator who has spent decades perfecting the skill of saying plenty without saying much, McConnell’s latest appearance took the concept to a whole new level.

McConnell, 84, recently nearly voted “no” alongside Democrats before Republicans had to instruct him to vote “yes” on a bill. He can vote - with assistance- and he appears unable to speak or walk.

This is just sad on so many different levels.
