The story of Kimberly Guilfoyle's grifty corruption, which resulted in her resignation in disgrace, has taken an interesting turn.
If The Devil Wears MAGA ever becomes a miniseries, it would star Guilfoyle as the woman who knows where all the bodies are buried. Donald Jr. as the bewildered ex. Donald Sr. as the raging patriarch. And a supporting cast of MAGA loyalists frantically checking their phones to see if they've made the burn book. Yes, of course there's a possibility of a burn book.
Guilfoyle's sudden departure as U.S. ambassador to Greece may be turning into a full-fledged Trumpworld soap opera. According to a report by The Daily Mail, insiders worry that Donald Trump's former future daughter-in-law has a few scores to settle—and possibly a whole lot of secrets to spill.
The former Fox News personality and fiancée of Donald Trump Jr. reportedly kept a secret “burn book” documenting the Trump family's private dramas and political dealings. Sources have even dubbed the alleged collection The Devil Wears MAGA (you see how I didn't make that up?). Now, with Guilfoyle reportedly on her way back to the United States after her ouster, some administration insiders are apparently getting nervous.
One source took a minute to hit the panic button, saying Guilfoyle's return could be a nightmare and that she knows the family's secrets, feuds, relationships, and internal power struggles. Another suggested that keeping her happy was the best way to keep her quiet. Apparently, nobody wants an angry Kimberly with nothing left to lose.
The reported panic comes as Guilfoyle faces a growing list of allegations concerning her diplomatic conduct. The White House said it had asked her to resign after accusations that she threatened foreign officials, gave lobbyists privileged access, and sought payments in exchange for political favors. The State Department's inspector general has opened an investigation into allegations surrounding her conduct.
Among the claims previously reported by The Wall Street Journal are that Guilfoyle allegedly asked a MAGA donor to cover a $100,000 credit-card bill in exchange for introductions to officials who could assist with his tax and legal problems. She has also faced allegations involving her dealings with Greek officials and a private Greek company.
Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were reportedly furious as the allegations mounted. Insiders allegedly made a last-minute effort to save Guilfoyle's job, but their efforts failed.
Whether this supposed burn book actually exists, and what it might contain, remains unclear. But if the reports about Trumpworld's anxiety are accurate, Guilfoyle's return could make an already messy political drama even messier.
After all, there's nothing quite like a disgruntled former insider who knows where the skeletons are buried—and might not feel obligated to keep the cemetery quiet.
