As we all know, Bill O'Reilly was threatening to "pack it in" this week on The O'Reilly Factor if heaven forbid his taxes might go up if the GOP House would ever vote for such an increase. On this Wednesday's show, rather than pay an ounce of attention to the fact that Georgia probably just executed an innocent man, O'Reilly decided his show should be all about him and heaven forbid that the taxes he pays might be being wasted on things like $16 muffins.

From Kevin Drum at Mother Jones, and not discounting that there is government waste we ought to be cleaning up, O'Reilly's talking point is a ridiculous one -- The Great $16 Muffin Myth.

The bigger issue here of course is not whether our government wastes money, which I'm fairly sure people from all sides of the aisle will agree on, but the fact that O'Reilly will use any excuse possible for why heaven forbid someone who makes as much money as he does shouldn't have to pay a higher rate than someone who is middle class or poor.

And apparently O'Reilly thought carping about his own tax rates was much more important than recognizing the fact that we probably just executed an innocent man in the United States and the number of protests going on with people who are fed up with us being a country that appears to relish death and welcomes racism if it means a black man can't have another chance for a fair trial when it's obvious he probably didn't get one in the first place.

Par for the course, O'Reilly brought in another one of the typical weak kneed Fox "Democrats", Ellis Henican who argued with him just enough to pretend he supports progressive values, but not enough to actually call O'Reilly out on just how wrong and selfish his talking points were in the beginning of the segment.

I'd say the president's talking points with calling out the Republicans and their ridiculous statements on "class warfare" are working and he should probably be doing more of it because there's probably a direct proportion someone could figure out mathematically to him being right on that issue and the rich paying their share and pundits like O'Reilly's heads exploding.
