I was having breakfast with my buddy Rick yesterday, and the genius of Arthur Alexander came up. Born in Sheffield, Alabama, Alexander is considered a country-soul pioneer and was the only songwriter covered by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan. It was hard to pick just one song to post, but despite the abysmal graphics this one won out. This song was not written by Alexander, but is one of my favorite Rock and Roll performances nonetheless. Shake it!

(Check out another one of my favorites: 'Everyday I Have To Cry')

PS from Blue Gal: Love on our own Mike Finnegan of the Blog Round Up, who appeared on American Idol playing Hammond organ for Joe Cocker last night. He's at the 3:41 mark in this video.
