The incredibly talented Teena Marie, nee Mary Christine Brockert, passed away this past weekend and the far too young age of 54. Lady T, a talented multi-instrumentalist who wrote all her own material, was among the baddest baddasses of the disco era. While much of the genre has been filed under Kitsch over the years, Teena Marie always managed to be one of the few artists to stay far away from that dustbin. RIP.
