The Truth is an Offense, but not a Sin ~ Bob Marley

Damn, I miss Zappa. Frank Zappa and John Lennon. Two people who would absolutely pillory this administration with wit.

We blow more smoke than we can take.
Rudy's "base".
Employers are cutting coverage.
Abstinence doesn't work. Bush continues to fund the war and slash health education, while blaming Dems.

Frank, I miss you guy!

He left so much of himself to enjoy, I don't think 20 days is enough.
Guess I'll have to celebrate all year every year in remembrance like I've been doing anyway.

Oh yeah, link.
Mental health hits affects six months after their tours. Oral Roberts' son is not welcome.

American Research Group: A total of 64% of American voters say that President George W. Bush has abused his powers as president. 53% say the abuses rise to the level of impeachable offenses and Mr. Bush should be impeached and removed from office.

IOWA: HILLARY 25%; EDWARDS 23%; OBAMA 22%

Can it really happen? If only Edwards and Obama could team up and take out Clinton. I doubt that would ever happen, but it would destroy the Clinton dynasty and we'd really get some change. I'm thinking though it could tighten up if Iowa goes to Edwards or Obama. Then everything could change around the country. One win snowballs and lets say Edwards wins Iowa and hits hard to Clinton's lead in NH. Then Obama says well I"m running third, so I want all my supporters to vote Edwards. Then Clinton is left in the dirt and we have a worthwhile candidate. At first it looked like we'd be stuck with Hillary, but its becoming a whole new ball game. Liberal blogs can break Clinton/Bush rule and bring us what we want in progressive changes.

Thank god that was Zappa. I thought for a second we had to deal with yet another one of Rudy's cross dressing boy friends. I really do miss Frank. He really pushed honesty in lyrics to a new level. Only when you have real musical talent can you pull off what Zappa did.

120 Veteran Suicides a Week

Veterans aged 20-24, who are those most likely to have served during the War on Terror, are killing themselves when they return home at rates estimated to be between 2.5 and almost 4 times higher than non-vets in the same age group.

And it's not just American soldiers. Japan's SDF troops helping US wars have suicide rate 3 times national average.

But hey, the surge is working, right?

HUCKABEE has had some surprising poll numbers according to drudge. As much as I'm against a lot of what he stand for he does seem like a likable guy and one of the few with integrity in this campaign. And if we got stuck with a republican he'd at least be tolerable for four years whereas all the others on that side sans ron paul would be a living hell on eart.

watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow

Oh, I'm sure we'll get our questions answered.

Can someone please tell me what the big deal about Ron Paul is? If he's so freakin' great, why has he got an (R) behind his name? Why not an (I)? I can understand why he's not a (D), but an (R)? There's not a single (R) that I would piss on if his ass was on fire. If he wants my respect, and therefore my vote, show a little sense and dump the (R) party otherwise I'll vote for someone else. I'll never trust/vote for anyone EVER whose a Republican no matter how much bullshit they spew.

P.S. I voted for Reagan. Once. My mistake.

here's a question. What the hell is going through your twisted minds?

I miss John Lennon. Hoping to see those guys back again soon.

Plus the days with Flo & Eddie.
Those were some Mothers.
The Turtles/Zappa ruled.

Show me your thumb if you're really dumb.

So stick your little poll out the window (at the Edgewater Inn) and yell "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore"!

Zappa to Tipper/Peter Tork. "Thats sorta White of you".

10questions thing: do you honestly expect me to watch all those videos and pick TEN? yeah right. god i hate the internet.

I miss Zappa. He's one of my idols. His son Dweezil was over here a couple of weeks ago for the Zappa Plays Zappa tour. He might not have an ounce of Frank's charisma, but he's a great guitar player. Frank would have been proud.

His testimonies are the stuff of legends.

This speaks volumes as to how dismal this country has become when we veiw this as good news. Sad. Besides, I don't want to see him impeached, I want to see him inprisoned. Tonight.

Vanity Fair tells it like it is.

fourteen days until the second annual festival of zappadan.

wanna eat some clams?

What the heck? Ron Paul is a "Chrismas Crusaider" like Billo? Dang, I thought he was better than that...

As we celebrate another Yuletide season, it’s hard not to notice that Christmas in America simply doesn’t feel the same anymore.
The Christmas spirit, marked by a wonderful feeling of goodwill among men, is in danger of being lost in the ongoing war against religion.
Through perverse court decisions and years of cultural indoctrination, the elitist, secular Left has managed to convince many in our nation that religion must be driven from public view.
The notion of a rigid separation between church and state has no basis in either the text of the Constitution or the writings of our Founding Fathers. On the contrary, our Founders’ political views were strongly informed by their religious beliefs.
The Founding Fathers envisioned a robustly Christian yet religiously tolerant America, with churches serving as vital institutions that would eclipse the state in importance.

Say WHAT Ron?! Hey, I hate the PC bullshit too (of you want a manger or a Shiiva statue in your yard or in your church lawn fine with me), but tearing down the separation between church and state is no good! Not to mention that many of the "Founding Fathers" weren't even Christian!

Apparently he's never heard of Thomas Jefferson... or any of the other. Stuff like this is why he's called a wacko and crazy, and completely worthless as a candidate.

The 'Mothers' were frequent guests on my numerous acid trips (when it was legal, of course). They truly were on the fringe. Few FM stations played their music (zero AM did). You could create that 'FM line in the sand' by whether a station played Velvet Underground, The Mothers, Peanut-Butter Conspiracy, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Big Brother and the Holding Company, and (of course) The Grateful Dead. Bands like Jefferson Airplane, although were definitely part of this group, they had two top 10 songs (Somebody To Love, White Rabbit), and a top-selling album (Surrealistic Pillow). Even AM was playing them.

Yes, and how that he has Chuck Norris on his campaign, he's unstoppable!! Of course, Huckabee says things like we are in an apocalyptic religious war and that only a minister (conveniently himself) can lead the AmeriChristians to victory over the IslamoBaddies. So he's a fucking loon.

But hey... CHUCK NORRIS!!

Not sure exactly "why", but they have a park dedicated to Frank Zappa with a tall pillar with his bust erected in Vilnius, Lithuania. Wonder what the heck that is there for?

The question is, why isn't there one in every city?

*brag*
I'm friends with Curt Boettcher's son, and he loved talking about the time Zappa waited until my friend's parents were stoned, then he'd drive them up and down the street is a POS car with blown shocks, just listening to the sounds it made...
*end brag*

I love that he almost got kicked out of the Mothers because he didn't do drugs.

Another explosion.

Unfortunately, even with the 3 parts Nick Danger isn't complete (there seems to be a gap between 2 and 3.) But it's a great representation of the piece.

Um, wake up folks. I was wondering when the Neo-Cons BFF would rear his ugly head. Be afraid. Be very afraid. Anyone in doubt about who is calling the shots needs to review some history.

Chalabi returns to prominence and power

Frank Zappa said it ALL when he sang,

"Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...had a swimming pool."

(Since Ramadan is a holy celebration, I would have called his holiday: Zappazen).

"Okay, so Zappa never visited Lithuania and had absolutely no connection with the country, but as far as I* was concerned, this was a test of our new-found freedom. Lithuania had just proclaimed itself to be a democratic country. I wanted to test it and see if I would be able to realize my ideas." -- http://www.balticsworldwide.com/news/features/zappa.htm

Don't know if true but with all things Zappa I expect it is. (Looking for a clip of Zappa apologizing to Havel on his having to endure meeting with Dan Quayle. No luck so far.)

Me? I was just wondering of some cranky dude with a handle like "old hack" would cross my path today. Guess what...

Been listening to FZ since I was 12. Im 50 now. I miss you Frank.

The dementia clears a bit, a synapse fires and

Imagine
If they freaked out in Washington Dc
dc Dc dc Dc dc DC dc Dc
No no it wont happen here....

I'm pledging not to shop during Zappadan...

One of my favorite Zappa songs is Help, I'm A Rock (or in the alternative version that I play in my mind Help, I'm Iraq).

As we watch the growth of American fascism keep saying to yourself over and over again:

It can't happen here
It can't happen here
I'm telling you, my dear
That it can't happen here

who could have imagined? (other than john lennon).

Planet of My Dreams by Frank Zappa

The planet of my dreams
The earth, my earth
Is bulging at the seams
The earth, my earth

It's full of many schemes
and as the sunlight beams
the glory of our sciences
and militant alliances
reveal their basic worth
along the mounds of dead appliances.

The planet of my dreams
The earth, my earth
I hear its muffled screams
The earth, my earth

And though it often seems
from television beams
that ignorance is rampant there
and governmental goons don't care
I know that I shall not dispair
and CHEAT LIKE ALL THE REST

I'll just keep on with what I do the best.

Cheat-cheedly-cheat! go ahead!
I cant do it!!!
Cheat-cheedly-cheat! go ahead!
I cant do it!!!
Cheat-cheedly-cheat! go ahead!
I cant do it!!!
Cheat-cheedly-cheat! go ahead!
I cant do it!!!

(rinse repeat)

I saw the master ZAPPA at a 1985 HALLOWEEN CONCERT at MADISON SQ GARDEN. fRANK PLAYED EVERY YEAR AT THE GARDEN ON HALLOWEEN, and everyone was dressed up. To this day it was the most polished and fantastic playing I have ever heard. Frank played with a panty on his guitar; Chad Wackerman was on some hilltop structure banging away on the drums;Bobby Brown was there. These guys satirized one music form after another and then settling on STING and the Police to insult and make fun of. It was hysterical and I now hate STING more than ever. Noone could play like the Zappa band. Noone. All those cheesy studio musicians backing up the no talent Sting couldn't wax Frankie's filthy boot heel. Frank has written over 80 albums. incredible. His classical compositions like THE YELLOW SHARK are magnificent, the last album he made. Franks was comfortable in several musical forms and it shows here. Frank played rock more hard core than the wannabee rocker of the 70's and 80's. At the flick of a switch, out came some jaw dropping riffs and banging on the drums in arrangements no other band could even dream of pulling off.

Whoooooooooooo could imagine........

Listen here you communist son of a bitch. You'd better get your ass down there for your fucking physical. Or I'll see to it that you get used for fill dirt and some impending New Jersey marsh reclamation. And your girlfriend there, will wind up disguised as a series of brooms, primitive ironing boards (aaagh) or a dog house, get the picture?

Frank Zappa

ummm, Dave, wtf dude? take a chill pill and post your nonsense where is should be, where ever that is

Burnt weenie sandwich anyone? :D
During the high season of Zappadan we play our favorite hymn:

"Dumb All Over"

Whoever we are
Wherever were from
We shoulda noticed by now
Our behavior is dumb
And if our chances
Expect to improve
Its gonna take a lot more
Than tryin to remove
The other race
Or the other whatever
From the face
Of the planet altogether

They call it the earth
Which is a dumb kinda name
But they named it right
cause we behave the same...
We are dumb all over
Dumb all over,
Yes we are
Dumb all over,
Near n far
Dumb all over,
Black n white
People, we is not wrapped tight

Nerds on the left
Nerds on the right
Religious fanatics
On the air every night
Sayin the bible
Tells the story
Makes the details
Sound real gory
bout what to do
If the geeks over there
Don't believe in the book
We got over here

You can't run a race
Without no feet
n pretty soon
There wont be no street
For dummies to jog on
Or doggies to dog on
Religious fanatics
Can make it be all gone
(I mean it wont blow up
n disappear
It'll just look ugly
For a thousand years...)

You cant run a country
By a book of religion
Not by a heap
Or a lump or a smidgen
Of foolish rules
Of ancient date
Designed to make
You all feel great
While you fold, spindle
And mutilate
Those unbelievers
From a neighboring state

To arms! to arms!
Hooray! thats great
Two legs ain't bad
Unless theres a crate
They ship the parts
To mama in
For souvenirs: two ears (get down!)
Not his, not hers, (but what the hey? )
The good book says:
(it gotta be that way!)
But their book says:
Revenge the crusades...
With whips n chains
n hand grenades...
Two arms? two arms?
Have another and another
Our God says:
There ain't no other!
Our God says
Its all okay!
Our God says
This is the way!

It says in the book:
Burn n destroy...
n repent, n redeem
n revenge, n deploy
n rumble thee forth
To the land of the unbelieving scum on the other side
cause they don't go for whats in the book
n that makes em bad
So verily we must choppeth them up
And stompeth them down
Or rent a nice french bomb
To poof them out of existence
While leaving their real estate just where we need it
To use again
For temples in which to praise our god
(cause he can really take care of business!)

And when his humble tv servant
With humble white hair
And humble glasses
And a nice brown suit
And maybe a blond wife who takes phone calls
Tells us our God says
Its okay to do this stuff
Then we gotta do it,
cause if we don't do it,
We ain't gwine up to hebbin!
(depending on which book you're using at the
Time...cant use theirs... it don't work
...its all lies...gotta use mine...)
Ain't that right?
Thats what they say
Every night...
Every day...
Hey, we cant really be dumb
If were just following gods orders
Hey, lets get serious...
God knows what hes doin
He wrote this book here
An the book says:
He made us all to be just like him,
So...
If were dumb...
Then God is dumb...
(an maybe even a little ugly on the side)

Al Gore Update: The former Democratic vice president and recent Nobel Peace Prize winner announced he is joining the prestigious Silicon Valley venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers as a partner in the firm's effort to finance global warming solutions.

California's passage of the nation's first economy-wide limits on greenhouse gases also will make the state a testing ground to see which technologies - biofuels, hybrids, solar power plants, green building techniques - will prove most viable and cost effective, Gore said.
"We are calling out to all the innovators and technologists and inventors to send us the best ideas they have," he said.
Gore isn't the only one making the bet. Kleiner Perkins, best known for early investments that spawned Internet and biotech giants such as Google and Genentech, plans next year to spend one-third of its $600 million investment fund on green technology startups. Gore's role will be to advise the firm on which companies and technologies look most promising.

Typical southern stupidity, typical republican stupidity

Drought in Georgia -
Republicans: Government is evil, corporations are good, science is wrong...there's no global warming droughts are seasonal
Reality: Corporations exploited no zoning laws, constructions companies overdeveloped areas diverting water resources until it became epidemically stupid, Please bail us out government...our free marketist stupidity has caused a 'state of emergency' but our Republican leglislature won't institute new ordinances to conserve water...instead waiting on Bushevik run do nothing FEMA to do something, worst drought in history of Georgia...global warming has extended the warm temperatures by 2 months...ie, more heat/solar energy = less water stores combined with lack of rain...get used to it morons.

As for praying....that's all Republicans can do, because government doesn't work when its run by them...and the evil driven stupid mindset of these 'free marketists' is that industry/corporations will be propelled into acting....well, haven't seen any of that...in fact those same 'market forces' are also crying home to mama, ie, government to bail them out of there own actions which exarcerbated the current situation

There's no way to delay that trouble comin' every day.

Peace old man!

Zappa was the most smug, self-consumed, over-rated, arrogant "musician" in history. Doodling on your frets and playing in 8/3 or 7/5 does not a musician make--it just shows how bored you are. But the worst legacy he left us is Steve Vai. Agggg!!!!!

Well, as long as you got an erection from his work...

Hard to believe Alice Cooper was one of his progeny along with the GTO's and Captain Beefheart.

I used to like Zappa. But he has gone off the deep end with the issue of busting anyone who dares to seek out his music and download it without forking over cash to him.

He does not care if it is financially wise to prosecute some 14 year old kid with 20 songs. He will do it. He combs the internet daily seeking out the thieves and he personally sees to it they are prosecuted.

He has gone off the deep end with this and I have lost all respect for him.

So its 1970, I am a freshman in high school. My arts class gives us an assignment so me and my buddy decide to remake Creature from the Lost Lagoon. We buy a wierd rubber mask, I put on my wetsuits and flippers and we go off to the ocean where a slough meets the waves near Goleta Beach, California. I proceed to wallow in the muck trying to get my girlfriend who is laying on a towel in stinky muck waiting for me to come out of the putrid water to scare her. Thats basically the plot with a fight with my buddy thrown in for good measure. It was all done on Super 8 and we laughed our asses off. Well, we showed it in class with our project and a turntable. We played Brown Shoes Don't make it and some other wild songs from a Zappa album my buddy had. I had never heard of Zappa before. The teacher hated it but the kids loved the music and the insanely stupid movie. Man I wish I had that thing now.

My other Zappa memories was listening to Apostrophe on acid driving up to Yosemite in a van with about 10 guys smoking weed like Cheech and Chong in 72. I can still hear St Alphonso's Pancake breakfast where I stole the margarine....
