Dana Rohrabacher: Bush should stay home for GOP Convention
By John Amato Friday Jul 04, 2008 2:00pm
This is too much. Some of the GOPers that bowed down to the altar of Bush for so long now want him away from the Minny convention...
This year, of course, Mr. McCain is trying to escape from Mr. Bush's shadow. Most Republicans say Mr. Bush should play whatever role Mr. McCain wants him to. Some, like Representative Dana Rohrabacher of California, simply wish Mr. Bush would keep out of it, though few would say so openly.
"I don't think there are a lot of people who want to see him at the convention," said Mr. Rohrabacher, who is especially irked with Mr. Bush for his stance on immigration. He said the president "should stay home from the Republican convention, and everybody would be better off."

I say wrong! Repeal the 22nd ammendment and have Mr. Bush run as an Independent candidate.
Let's get the Barometer-American voter tested.
First?
Rats!
Ashamed of who they are...as any Republican should be.
Sorry Dana, he's your responsibility. You wanted him, you said you'd take care of him. Guess what, he's all yours.
We told you this would happen but you wouldn't listen. You had to have Bush, no one but Bush.
Well, mister, you're stuck with him. You said you were grown up enough to take on the responsibility and now you just want to make it all go away. Well, that's not going to happen.
And NO, you can't have a McCain instead.
The son of a bitch lying, giggling, murderer should have stayed home in 2000. Be what as it is, the Repubs are fucking cowards.
I would like bushco to watch the CON-vention from club fed .
Wow, from the pinnacle of an Imperial Presidency, to the gutters of popularity. In all my years, I have never seen a party spit out their leader. Not that he does not deserve it. I would pay a $100 to watch him try to get in, and they escort him off the property. Am I vindictive? Usually not, but I make an exception for his entire administration. I would like to see them all in prison, after being totally disgraced.
were being told how to beat mccain(R) keep talking about bush(R).....they try to say mccain is not bush well he is to me.........it's all about developing a linguistic frame/visual
for peoples thought process and that frame is mcBush...
How does a nutcase like Rohrabacher even make it as a reprentative? He is one of the many republicans that have to be removed from office.
steve @ 10:
"nutcase" constituents
Typical Bush apologist...
Bush should hang from their collective neck like the rotting albatross he is.
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/07/02/bush-hunt-oil/
here's another reason they don't want to be seen with bush.......ray hunt of hunt oil already negotiating contracts for oil drilling in n. iraq and the administration knew but tried to deny....hunt donated 35mil to gw bush library......it never ends
Hey Dana, why don't all of you conservative pin-heads stay home and give your party back to the few moderate reasonable voices it has left. No doubt about it: everybody would be better off.
Whatever....
How many of the Bush Administration's policies, initiatives or wars did Rohrabacher and all of the other GOPers support 100% for 8 years. Now they want to distance themselves. They should wear Bush enabler tatoos on their foreheads.
Wow, apparently someone's neglected to brief Dana on the hilarious antics the Bush Crime Family is wont to perform when somebody insults and/or pisses off one of their own. I wonder what sort of fun, games, and surprises are in store for our dear friend from the land of everlasting fires.
NO, NO, NO, you can not block the WORST president in US history from attending the GOP (Gay Old Perverts) convention. He has earned the reich to stand in front of the crooked masses and tell them whatever they want to here. (Truth not required).
The American people needs to hear and see President Bush and Presidential hopeful, John McBush on the stage at the same time. Sen. McBush voted with president Bush on 99.9% of the issues the Republic party thought important.
The only thing better would be to have president Bush take some truth serum before he goes on stage. Now that's what the American people really need! The turth from president bush, for the first time.
Well I've never liked Dana Rohrabacher but I've also never said he lacked balls.
grand oil party.......i don't think bush even cares he accomplished his/elites goals....he believes he did the right thing and the masses just don't understand
It's altar, not alter.
steve @ 10:
Orange County is full of nutcases like Rohrabacker and Hugh Hewitt. But Dana is worried, because the district is changing and he has a serious Dem opponent this time, Debbie Cook, who is progressive, attractive and extremely popular. Throw her a little change if you'd like to see Rohrabacker cry.
Debbie Cook for Congress, California's 46th Congressional District
with all the trouble the gop reichwingneocons
have with homophobic dependency, you would
think this ass-wipe would change his name
to a male instead of his cute little girlie name,
DANA.
But in the photo those two look like such a happy couple. Wonder which one is 'top'?
These fuckeduplicans can not distance themselves far enough from Bush. You've heard of the mark of cain? This is the mark of w. That's why it's McBush. They are all marked. Throw them out of office and throw most of them in jail.
apple pie @ 24:
the dude in the background doesn't look happy
orange(red)county has an abundance of hypocrites
i know that's a broad stroke.. check it out sometime
these people talk about money 24/7 little substance the one's i have met
These criminals took everything they could get in exchange for giving Bush the right to destroy Iraq, New Orleans, the environment, ad nausea.
Now you want him to stay behind while you try and promote your new Satan?
What a bunch of shameless pigs, i hope there is the hell they promote. I want them to suffer eternally.
Rohrabacher is one of the 17 California Congressional Reps who is co-sponsoring H. Con Res 362, the bill to impose more and more sanctions on Iran and potentially lead us into Bush War #3.

So much for that iron-clad GOP loyalty.
obama keep pounding this fact that a mccain presidency
will be a continutation of bush/NEOCON .....i believe his ads near the fall will show mccain/bush together and point out the similarities.....they don't even like their party name....maybe he should barr some dough let him do some damage
Naaaw....I'd love to see him in St. Paul. We all would. He's done so much for our country. I want to thank him. We all would. If Cheney could come too that would be great. We all love our beloved President and Vice President. I want them to stand right next to Senator McCain, maybe put a hand on his shoulder, a slap on the back, maybe a peck on the check as the photos are taken. Pictures are worth a thousand words as they say.
Question: Didn't the lame-duck LBJ avoid the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago?
David Aquarius @ 5:
ha!!!
exxxxxzzzzactly!!!
Hi GOP, nice albatross necklace. It looks really heavy.
what is amazing (not the word one normally hears when discussing this cro magnon, rohrabacker, but i digress...) is that had it not been for bush's immigration policies dana would likely welcome bush to the convention with open arms and open legs.
But Dana....if our beloved President isn't at that convention what is that telling me about his leadership? I think he should be there. Just remember...Minnesota nice. He can even come to Grand Ave and have a few beers...with McCain. Great photo op.
Put some glasses on Chickenhawk Dana, and he'd look just like Senator "No Chin" McConnell of Kentucky!
Aw na you don't. Just cause is may not be there doesn't mean we will forget. He will be there in our minds. We won't let you bastards forget especially you Dana. I remember seeing you many times defending the idiot-in-chief. You republicans voted like a bunch of deers staring at the headlights of a car. You have no morals. Lets hope that the demos do better and not screw up as fast as the republicans have. All we want is cooperation from both sides.
karl @ 14:
We could fill a Bush library full of books on every Bush atrocity. My God it would be as big as the library of Congress. In fact, I think we should do that. Bush can have his puny library and the nation will have theirs. We'll call it the Presidential library with a wing devoted to his evilness. Not because he deserves it but because the magnitude of writing that is going to come from these eight years.
Oh, once he leaves the white house...he can't pay enough people off to keep them from talking. I imagine they're foaming at the mouth as we speak waiting for the chance to tell their side of things.
The beauty of it is that if Bush doesn't attend, nobody will be talking about McCain, they will all be talking about Bush not being there. McCain can't get out from under Bush no matter what happens.
No, Mr rohrbacker, YOU will be his butt plug for the whole convention. You deserve it, you earned it, so now enjoy it!!!
The president is beginning to rate at the level of gum-stuck-to-the-sole-of-one's wingtip for the GOP. Har har.
Jeanne @ 39:
if bush does show up for the convention i hope he doesn't go to one of my favorite eateries in st.paul cafe latte.
i don't think he would be invited their...he'd probably be seen in edina somewhere
Gee, it seems like only yesterday when these same folks were accusing the Dixie Chicks of treason just because they admitted to being ashamed of the President.
Close, Dana, but no Havana Supremo for you! What Dana SHOULD have said is, "If Republicans all stayed home on election day, everybody would be better off.”
The party of angry old white men.
That's Dana "maybe dinosaur farts caused climate change" Rorafucker.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/05/us/politics/05memo.html
mcBush has be to careful not to distance himself from(R)
base that licks bush for every money move he makes...
he needs to hang on to them...that's why i say obama should pound mccain on continuing bush policy. limit it's voice and growth.....maybe some republicans will stay home
I think it is time to disband the Refucklican (a.k.a. Nazi) party! They all need to crawl back into the woodwork and die like rats!
Stan @ 44:
Well, Rohrbacher didn't make any CDs we can purchase to burn
linus bern @ 40:
The only way Bush would fuck up that win-win scenario would be by going on vacation at his 'ranch'
“I don’t think there are a lot of people who want to see him at the convention,” said Mr. Rohrabacher, who is especially irked with Mr. Bush for his stance on immigration
===========
It's pretty sad the biggest reason they don't want him there is because of the fact he holds ONE position that's not far-right.
What's that old saying about making your bed and having to lie in it?
Underground Pirate @ 49:
going from libertarian/republican to NEOCONS(extremist)
changed everything reagan...helms...gingrich...rove

this is another gem for the bush hall of shame
the bush white house was saying that rise in food prices related to biofuels was 3% well world bank says global food prces have risen 75% due to biofuels this report has been kept quiet....put report in his fxxking library

Like Bush is going to pay attention to what the lackeys are saying.
He will bogard the convention, just to show up McCain; not help him.
This is priceless. First one down the rat line of the foundering USS McSame.... blub blub... And Ms Cook appears well situated to retire this old rodent anyway.
The vaporous shelf life of the fake issue flatulence wafted by the media courtiers is a thing to behold, hefty toots of bad bad Wes.. Iraq flip flop and other dollops of rattled incoherence all blow away like firework smoke in a strong gust and we see them reduced to agitated pleas to the chief of cheese to steer clear of McStain's debutante ball with Larry Craig's new line dance craze, The Wide Stance Waltz, strutted to Lawrence Welkish polkas charmingly provided by The Vitter Family Values Orchestra with the Scanty Diaper Escort Chorus.
Oh it will be a fun summer.
During the Foreign Affairs Committe Hearings on Torture on June 4th. Dana ( isn't that a girl name?) referenced putting "panties" on the heads of the detainees "eight" times during his 5 minute time limit. I think he wants someone to do that to him.
karl @ 55:
The world Bank is as responsible for the mess the world is in as this administration. They are all greedy fascist corporate whores.

linus bern @ 40:
Excellent point!!
Jeanne @ 31:
He's done so much
forto our countryRuthless People @ 46:
so they aint got any black guys in the party? lucky for you huh jasper!
motorfingaz @ 66:
if they don't talk about it ...we will......this may be our greatest offense once were in we could be looking at two 4yr terms.....yes
Well well well. Now they don't want him. They made their bed now go sleep in it.
W has fucked up EVERYTHING he has ever endeavored including the President of the United States. What is more amazing is how
stupiduninformed the American people are/were who elected him not once but twice. This just in... "God" has told me he flooded the mid west because of their anti-gay, anti-pro choice, pro Bush behavior. He also said there's nothing he can do about the price of gas... the ties between Bush, Cheney, Speculators, Exxon Mobil, Congress and Lobbyist are just well beyond his powers... it's not like making a universe ya know.
And it's too bad Jesse Helms just died... yeah it's too bad... he lived to 81. Tell me there's a god that let's this POS live that long.
Ruthless People @ 46:
They look like members of the Soviet Politburo.
Doesn't it make sense that these dudes have been running things for seven years? Sheesh.
sorry! too late!
David Aquarius @ 5:
Exactly!!! And this should be repeated over and over and over again!!
I don't know know, Bush's appearance might give McCain a boost if they hung him by his feet, garroted him slowly on the air and broadcast his bloated cyanotic head in close-up for a couple of days and then set his corpse on fire while threshing it with ax handles until the entrails burst out and then dragged it through the streets and let the general public take big meaty dumps on it or bring their dogs to eat the roasted flesh. Later they could pass a law to immunize everybody just in case the circumstances raise any legal issues.
Oh hell to the no!! You came to the dance with this facist traitor and you're going to leave with him. Not only should Bush speak at the convention but Cheney, Rove, Gonzales, Condi and Scooter should speak too. The GOP validated this crime machine on everything they did. And another thing, everybody who voted for this traitor the second time should mandated to sit through his speech at the convention. All of you neocon criminals need to sit down and STFU.
This just in: Repubs eat their own; film at eleven!
This is a political trick to win CA voters. He's scared of Debbie Cook taking his job next election.
Dana 'i hope its your families that die' Rohrbacher has a problem with dubya?? this douche said this to Americans as they questioned bushes rendition program. this piece of excrement was born 60 years too late, he wouldve made a helluva nazi prison guard.
there are fewer repubs as nasty as this assclown(and boy is that saying alot!)
My bad Dana, it wasn't Americans you wanted to die, it was only european human rights panelists, you're forgiven
oh, come on...let him go....I want to see johnny mcsame give duhbya another big group hug.
It will do wonders for the election, just not as karl rove intended.
swampfox @ 68:
I'll bet you wouldn't say that in front of a black man now would you???? Hate online cowards!
Ron @ 60:
Not to mention the tyrannical united nations, thank goodness I'm voting for chuck baldwin.
The UN Must go as well.
Required @ 4:
A better idea: why don't they all stay home?
When will Rohrabacher join his buddy Duke Cunningham, doing hard time in a federal pen where he belongs?
