A lot of the McCain's lives seem to have a fictional air about them. What they can't buy with money, they just sort of make up. The special that CNN did about each of the candidates pointed out some fiction that McCain had written about himself during the time he and Cindy were having their affair. Seems the McCain's have a problem with the truth.

Jeez, when you make up stories about Mother Theresa, you should at least have met the lady. When you steal recipes you should at least credit the person you stole them from. Cindy is sounding more stupid than anything else.

I was just reading about this elsewhere. There is just no bottom for right wing American politicos. Whenever you think you've sunk to the depths, they prove they can go further.

Don't misunderstand me -- I don't give a shit about Cindy McCain's personal problems, drug use, lying about her family recipes or whatever. I don't even really care about this story. It has nothing to do with how John McCain would govern as president.

But what it shows is that the right wing is willing to make up any story they think might help them win an election. Anything. They'll lie about anything. Nothing is sacred; nothing is off-limits.

I remember people arguing that Edwards would have been such a great candidate because he was squeaky clean, and the Republicans couldn't smear him. Notwithstanding that he wasn't actually squeaky clean, as we've now learned, but it didn't matter anyway. The Republicans would just make something up.

Now, I'm seeing articles wondering whether Clinton would be beating McCain at this point. Inevitable speculation, I suppose, but impossible to gauge, since the Republicans would have simply made stuff up against her.

These fuckers will lie about anything. Anything.

Obama really needs to use this kind of story as more proof that we can't trust McCain. On anything. Get tough, and do it now.

I was raised an only child by my mother. My father had a step-daughter from his 2nd wife, and they decided to have a third child, my half-sister.

I was not particularly close with them growing up, and only in the past couple of year developed a meaningful relationship with them. Prior to this, I described myself as an only child.

So I would be interested to know if Cindy's situation is similar to mine in that way. Hell, I love picking on her, but I'm holding back on this point.

Actually, I was thinking the same thing. However, after her father's death, it appears that for whatever reason, the half sisters were completely written out of the will and not recognized at all.

I think this speaks more poorly about Mr. Hensley than it does Cindy McCain. I can't imagine giving up my children like that, even if I was no longer in a relationship with their other parent.
