I was on Alan Colmes's radio program and debated with the NRO's John Derbyshire...He'd like to see the UK troops released from Iran incarcerated and or something much worse...I wrote about it here...I received a number of emails asking me to post the audio...

On the email front---Derby complains:

I was on his radio show at 11 pm last night talking about the Iranian hostage thing for the best part of an hour, and I have got precisely two e-mails on it. A radio appearance usually inspires a dozen or so. Get some listeners, Alan. One correspondent, though sympathetic to my point of view, says I sounded "heated and incoherent." I wouldn't be a bit surprised. Late evening is not the time of day when I'm at my most coherent.

I'm still not up to speed physically--hence I haven't been posting as much, but it was good to go on the air for a bit...

From one of C&L's UK readers:

The wonderfully named Chief Air Marshall Jock Stirrup was on in full uniform and reiterated that any speculation in the press about what did or didn't happen (ie; speculating that the sailors were trying to send coded messages in those speeches (referring to the boat by number rather than, as usual, by name, for example) _while they were still in captivity_ was extremely irresponsible, and any question of their bravery or motives is reprehensible; you only have to look at their faces and listen to their voices, he said, and you can draw your own conclusions (that's pretty much a quote). So I think the Brits are aware 'some' people are questioning the Brits' bravery, but it's not going down well here.
