"Purple Haze" is probably one of Jimi Hendrix's most famous and best loved songs. It first appeared on his debut album and it's been covered by lots of people, including Ozzie Osborne and, more interestingly, Kronos Quartet. My favorite cover version is a relatively rare promo-single from The Cure (1994), who, much earlier, had done a cover of "Foxy Lady" on their debut album, Three Imaginary Boys (1979).
