Mike's Blog Round Up
July 3, 2014

And so, this week of July the Fourth, when one would prefer to celebrate the good things about America, a group of xenophobic bigots blocked buses carrying undocumented immigrants, many of them women and children, from reaching a processing office in Riverside County, California, chanting nasty things about them… and of course about President Obama as well. It was the sort of ugliness that goes way beyond the "Ugly American" stereotype overseas, these idiots protesting people who came to America in search of a better life. And by "these idiots," of course, I mean members of the Republican base. I also call them profoundly un-American.

Squatlo-Rant: The legacy of Howard Baker.

Lawyers, Guns & Money: Alito is worse than Scalia.

(Actually, Alito is like the Taliban.)

Zandar Versus the Stupid: It's still 1964 in Mississippi.

And because there's stuff going on elsewhere in the world:

The Duck of Minerva: Putin is losing the Ukraine crisis.

Round-up by Michael J.W. Stickings of The Reaction. (Twitter: @mjwstickings.) I'll be here all week.
