I dare anyone to watch the 4 1/2 minutes of silence as those students lay in the street and not be moved by it.
December 6, 2014

On Friday, over 1,000 students marched from Tufts to Harvard Square to protest the injustices done to black men at the hands of the police. There were marches all over the country, but this particular one was one of the largest and most compelling.

Dropping to the ground, the protesters remained in the street for 4 1/2 minutes -- one minute for each hour that Michael Brown lay in the street. What an incredibly powerful statement.

I'm sure the right wing outlets will serve up more pap about all the destructive protesters, but this video stands as evidence that they're wrong. This was a peaceful protest with a powerful message delivered by black and white students alike.

Black lives matter.

Are we reaching a point where actual progress is possible?
