I love a happy ending, don't you?
A Fort Myers woman and three teens in her car were shocked when they say a man pulled out two different guns and pointed them at their vehicle.
Melissa Drake said the man driving a silver Mercedes was all over the road before the incident happened.
Drake said she and another vehicle were in the left and center lanes, the other vehicle about two feet ahead of her, when the Mercedes wanted between them.
"I honked the horn and [gestured] one of these, like what are you doing?" Drake said. "He brake-checked us to the point where I had to slam on my brakes and my anti-lock brake system reacted."
That's when Drake said she noticed the driver waiving something outside his window.
"My son Shawn said 'Is that a gun' and at the same time I'm going 'Is that a gun?'" Drake said.
The situation got worse when she passed the vehicle and the driver still had the gun in his hand.
"He just pointed it right at me," 17-year-old Shawn said.
Drake called 911, reported the driver's license plate, and told the operator what had happened.
While she was on the phone, Drake said the driver of the Mercedes backed his vehicle up in traffic and crossed several lanes. It wasn't that action that shocked her most, though. It was what she saw him holding.
"As we're going by, he has an assault rifle now following us," Drake said. "I saw the scope and I thought 'Oh my God.'"
"Who on this Earth would point a weapon at a child?" Drake said. She was instructed by the 911 operator to leave the area.
The silver Mercedes reportedly continued driving, eventually facing east on Corkscrew Road at the Sandy Lane intersection.
Gayle Sarceno described a man hopping on one leg after jumping out of his car at that intersection.
"He's spewing blood from his leg," Sarceno said. "He just drops, right there in the center lane."
