The Nightly Show's Larry Wilmore laid into Fox and their bag of tricks to make their viewers believe that there is actually a "war on cops" and that it's the Black Lives Matter movement that's responsible for it.

As we've discussed here time and time again, there is no "war on cops" and 2015 was one of the safest years on record when it comes to officers being shot and killed in the line of duty. That hasn't stopped Faux "news" from repeating the narrative over and over again and telling their audience that the cops are supposedly under siege in America.

After noting that some of the people out there protesting for the Black Lives Matter movement didn't do themselves any favors by handing the likes of Fox and their allies some red meat and the chants of hoping that some cops "fry like bacon," Wilmore explained why these attacks on isolated incidents like the one Fox latched onto are so wrong.

WILMORE: I'm not a spokesperson for Black Lives Matter, but I'm pretty sure their agenda is just to get police to stop shooting unarmed black people. I'm pretty sure that's it. I mean, the fact that we even need that movement is insane and the fact that you're trying to presto change it to a war on cops is even more insane.

And sadly of course, this has lead to the likes of right wing politicians like Ted Cruz and Chris Christie and Scott Walker attacking President Obama for somehow being to blame for police being murdered.

After expressing his disbelief that these guys would go that far and giving them some kudos for the sheer propaganda, Wilmore wrapped things up with this:

WILMORE: But no matter how many times Fox repeats the words war on cops, you should remember, it's not a thing. It's an illusion. It's a misdirection intended to weaken a growing civil rights movement and let me just say, as a black man who comes from a law enforcement family, who is also a magician... I think I covered all the bases here... I very much want cops to stay safe, and you know... alive.
