Dr. Ben Carson, the former surgeon, who unsuccessfully ran for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination continues to add to his lexicon of the stupid.
He started off the day by publishing an article, saying that "Harriet Tubman would likely be turning over in her grave if she knew she would be the new face of American debt slavery."
And just a little while ago, made the women of Fox News' Outnumbered show almost fall off their couch.
Co-host Melissa Francis, asked Dr. Carson about the alliance that Cruz and Kasich forged to stop Donald Trump's quest for delegates and which is already faltering.
She asked, "Do you think they could stick to a deal knowing their character?" His response was mind boggling. He started by saying he would be "judging them," but then continued,
"People who are very ambitious and who will do whatever it takes in order to achieve their goal are people that probably should not be president."
Co-host Harris Falkner immediately responded by saying, "Wow." Francis replied, "probably most of the president we have," and Julie Roginsky followed up with, "That's the only way to become president."
I think in his mind he was criticizing both Ted Cruz and John Kasich as candidates since he's supporting Donald Trump, but what it sounded like in real life was pretty astounding.
This statement explains a lot about the man and his campaign, who often looked like he was snoozing during presidential debates.
