On a night filled with, as one colleague called it, "soul-sucking hate," leave it to John Lewis to go high when the news cycle is going low.

In this case, the 76-year-old Civil Rights legend actually ended the interview by going high above the audience with actual crowdsurfing. You could tell the audience was honored by the opportunity.

Stephen reeeeally wants to be featured in John Lewis's graphic novel trilogy, March, so he's published a panel "suitable for gluing onto the back of your John Lewis book" at the Late Show website.

Thank God for John Lewis and Stephen Colbert.
