Walker: Milo, You're Always Welcome To Wisconsin!
February 21, 2017

During the 2011 protests in Wisconsin, Scott Walker passed unconstitutional laws and illegally arrested people in an effort to curb their right to Free Speech.

Now Walker is singing a different tune towards Free Speech, swinging the pendulum too far the other way. In his 2017-18 state budget, Walker has introduced his own "Milo Bill," which is meant to force University of Wisconsin schools to meet a quota of conservative speakers:

The proposed companion budget bill elaborates, stating among other things, that:

The UW Board of Regents and each college campus “shall guarantee all members of the system's community the broadest possible latitude to speak, write, listen, challenge and learn.”

  • “It is not the proper role of the board or any institution or college campus to attempt to shield individuals from ideas and opinions they find unwelcome, disagreeable, or even deeply offensive.
  • ”Members of the system’s community are free to criticize and contest views expressed on campus and "speakers who are invited to express their views, (but) they may not obstruct or otherwise interfere with the freedom of others to express views they reject or even loathe.”
  • “The board and each institution and college campus has a responsibility not only to promote a lively and fearless freedom of debate and deliberation, but also to protect that freedom when others attempt to restrict it.”

I guess the free market that conservatives love to push isn't so free after all.

What Walker forgets is that not all speech is protected. One cannot yell "Fire!" in a movie theater unless there really is a fire. Likewise, one cannot go around excusing or even advocating for pedophilia without expecting consequences.

Just ask Milo, who is the inspiration for Walker's proposed law, has been rightfully bounced by Simon & Schuster and reluctantly cut by CPAC. It's so bad that even Breitbart is considering letting him go before he does more damage to their brand.

But at least with Walker around, Milo still has a buddy and a place to come and spew his hate and condone pedophilia.

Maybe Milo will give Walker a special necklace to show his love and appreciation.
