Former President Donald Trump has taken to his Truth Social platform repeatedly after a backlash ensued after he hosted a dinner for antisemites Kanye West and Nick Fuentes. Something was missing from his explanations, though.

The one-term President failed to condemn the two antisemites' beliefs. There were three antisemites in attendance: Milo Yiannopoulos, who has such strange views on pedophilia that he was forced to resign from Breitbart, was there, too. Milo now works with Marjorie Taylor Greene and Ye.

Most of us wouldn't let any of those people clean our toilets, so we obviously wouldn't break bread with them, but Donald did. His advisers begged him to disavow Nick Fuentes, but Lumpy wouldn't do it because it would alienate a section of his base.

Via The Guardian:

The former US president was urged publicly and privately to denounce Fuentes in the aftermath of the dinner, which included the performer Ye, previously known as Kanye West, who has also recently been propagating antisemitic remarks.

But Trump eschewed making outright disavowals of Fuentes, the people said, and none of the statements from the campaign or on his Truth Social account included criticism of Fuentes, despite efforts from advisers who reached Trump over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Trump ultimately made clear that he fundamentally did not want to criticize Fuentes – a product of his dislike of confrontation and his anxiety that it might antagonize a devoted part of his base – and became more entrenched in his obstinance the more he was urged to do so.

Eventually, after several statements on Truth Social, Trump said that Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, "expressed no antisemitism" and claimed that he "didn't know Nick Fuentes."

Trump has also signaled that, if elected again, he will pardon all of the January 6 defendants. Trump knows his base. They are the savages that shit all over our country in his name, and they are antisemites, bigots, and misogynists, and he doesn't want to alienate them.

Just like his speech after a Trump supporter murdered an anti-racist protester in Charlottesville, and just like when Trump supporters tried to overturn the 2020 election, the disgraced former President has failed once again to quickly call them out. He's weak. He's pathetic, and he's the leader of the Republican party.
