Walker’s multiple lies about being in law enforcement were debunked in June, including his “special deputy” claim. But for some reason, the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from Georgia decided to repeat the lie at the end of August, this time with a photo of a fake law enforcement ID card. Along with it, Walker tweeted, “I was proud to serve the blue as an Honorary Agent and Special Deputy Sheriff of Cobb County for many years.”

Um, no he didn’t. Why Walker thought tweeting the special deputy sheriff card would give him law enforcement cred is further evidence of his delusional and/or deceitful mind.

Dr. Rashad Richey, of TYT’s Indisputable show, said he called the Cobb County sheriff’s office and was told the badge is “for play.” More precisely, it was swag in return for donations

RICHEY: This is a made-up program to make individuals feel good about themselves who happen to contribute money to the sitting sheriff at that time. That’s basically what the program was designed for.

Friends of the sheriff, which equates to donors of the sheriff, they’re able to get this particular card. This was many years ago, by the way. This was a routine dynamic associated with the sheriff’s department, nothing special about it.

As MSNBC's Steve Benen points out, “The only meaningful experience the Georgia Republican appears to have with law enforcement was a 2001 incident in which the former athlete ‘talked about having a shoot-out with police.’ Around the same time, Walker’s therapist called the police to say he was 'volatile,' armed, and scaring his estranged wife.”

What Walker's tweet really shows is that he is unfit for any office, much less as a U.S. senator.
