Never mind that his opponent was a cynical attempt at race-baiting and little more. Reverend Senator Raphael Warnock ran twice and won. In Georgia.

Have we really let that sink in? If the world was fair, Rev. Sen. Warnock would have been elected easily in the midterm election in November. But because the world is never fair, the good Reverend has had to run twice to win the office others win with one election, because in Georgia, you can't win outright without winning 50% of the vote, plus one.

Let me take a moment to consider his opponent, Herschel Walker. A former football player, endorsed by Trump. He lied about literally everything, including his children and more importantly, the abortions he paid for. Walker was a cynical attempt to race-bait Georgians into voting for the "other Black guy" and it nearly worked.

But in this case, good triumphed, and we now have Rev. Sen. Warnock solidly in his Senate seat for 6 more years. Warnock never got in the gutter with Walker, instead choosing to focus on his own record and his policies. It worked. It just took him two tries to make it work.

For his persistence, class and steady hands, we hereby award Reverend Senator Warnock a Good Guy Crookie.
