Fox News's Peter Doocy knows you can direct questions to the President in the briefing room, not just anywhere. He thought he came up with the perfect gotcha question, so he was probably dying for an exchange with Biden.
The question was, of course, about private citizen Hunter Biden. And Doocy's question was a lie because Devon Archer never said what Doocy claimed.
"There's this testimony now where one of your son's former business associates is claiming that you were on speakerphone a lot with them talking business. Is that what..." Doocy said.
"I knew you'd have a lousy question," President Biden said.
"Why is that a lousy question?" Doocy asked.
"Because it's not true," Biden responded.
"Thank you, Mr. President," Doocy added.
If Doocy were paying attention, he'd have known that Devon Archer's much-hyped testimony was a dud. A flop. Just like all the other witnesses.
"I think you have to understand that there was no business conversation about a cap table or a fee or anything like that," Archer told the committee. "It was, you know, just general niceties and, you know, conversation in general about the geography, about the weather, whatever it may be."
What a scandal, huh?
