Wisconsin Republicans have been channeling their inner Wile E. Coyote in their ongoing pursuit to fire Elections Administrator Meagan Wolfe. They tried to vote her out of office, even though they didn't have the legal authority to do so. They tried to circulate articles of impeachment against Wolfe, even though they don't have the votes to do it.
Then they had to admit in a court of law that they were just kidding with their attempts to fire her.

The Court followed the logic and issued an order saying that Wolfe is rightfully in her position and that the Republicans don't have the authority to get rid of her:

"An injunction is in the public’s interest because maintaining the status quo will avoid confusion and disruption to Wisconsin’s decentralized system of election administration. Simply put, I agree with WEC that the public expects stability in its elections system and this injunction will provide stability pending the Court’s final decision," Dane County Circuit Judge Ann Peacock wrote in an order issued Friday afternoon.

The order stipulates that the elections commission is permitted to recognize Wolfe as "the lawful holder of the Administrator position, vested with the full authority of that office and entitled to the privileges thereof," that state Senate actions intended to remove or replace Wolfe "have no legal effect" and that "further official actions by Defendants to remove or attempt to remove Meagan Wolfe from the Administrator position, including appointing an interim Administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission, do not have legal effect," all subject to the court's final decision.

Despite not having the authority to fire Wolfe, and not having the votes to impeach her and a court order explicitly saying that the Republicans can't touch her, one of the worst of the state's GQP, Representative Janel Brandtjen, is having a tantrum that the impeachment isn't proceeding.

“Today, I express my deep concern regarding the ongoing delay in advancing the Meagan Wolfe impeachment resolution through the proper process and assigning it a number.

According to Assembly Rule 39(4)(c), the Speaker has a timeframe of 10 business days to assign a bill number and committee after the submission of bill or resolution drafts. Regrettably, today marks the 23rd business day since the resolution was submitted.

This delay raises concerns that the process is not being managed in a timely manner or that there may be an intent to delay. The people of Wisconsin expect their elected officials to adhere to the established rules and ensure a fair and efficient legislative process.

The resolution for the impeachment of Meagan Wolfe has garnered substantial support from constituents throughout the state who are concerned about Administrator Wolfe’s actions. I call on the Speaker to promptly assign a number to this resolution, allowing it to proceed per established procedures.”

Sheesh, talk about stuck on stupid.

To be fair, one really shouldn't expect too much sense from Brandtjen anyway. She's studied election integrity under folks like the Cyber Ninja Teenage Turtles and Mike Lindell, temporary owner of MyBankruptPillow. She also got mad when the other GQP wouldn't go along with her idea of just negating the 2020 election results because they didn't win and they had cheated so hard!

It's pretty sad when Robin Vos looks like the smart one with all the integrity.
