This particular failure came courtesy of Rob Finnerty, cohost of Newsmax’s Fox & Friends wannabe, “Wake Up America” show. Finnerty displayed a full-screen graphic of the MAGA hit parade of excerpts from President Joe Biden’s interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur. It was an effort to pressure Rep. James “There must be an impeachment pony somewhere!” Comer to get the interview recordings the DOJ has refused to turn over.

Finnerty exclaimed with gusto that Hur “gave us examples!” of Biden’s mental insufficiency. First example: “He said that Biden didn’t know that Africa was a country … very embarrassing stuff,” Finnerty declared.

Unfortunately for Finnerty, his Comer interview will likely be remembered for his own “embarrassing stuff,” not Biden’s. As I'm sure our readers probably know, Africa is a continent, not a country.

But Finnerty is hardly alone in his right-wing ignorance. 2008 vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin thought Africa was a country, too. 2012 presidential candidate Rick Santorum made the same faux pas in a CNN debate - on foreign policy, no less.

I guess if you think all Black people look alike, you can’t distinguish their countries, either.
