If the attempted con job by the three stooges hosting Fox & Friends is any indication, do not expect Trump’s in-the-tank approval ratings to get better any time soon.

On Tuesday morning, as Canada announced new retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods, the three millionaire cohosts desperately tried to spin higher prices as evidence of Dear Leader’s genius.

Cohost Brian Kilmeade was first up. He said the new Canadian tariffs are likely to cost $20 billion. But that’s no biggie because the Trump administration says it’s worse for Canada!

“It sounds like a lot of money, but according to a source within the administration, it's 0.06 percent of our economy, and it's a lot more to theirs,” Kilmeade said.

Still credulously quoting the White House, Kilmeade said Canadians have “reached out informally” and that “both sides have talked about next steps.”

That began the Trump cheerleading. “This is the mistake that every other country has made before they got to an eventual deal,” cohost Lawrence Jones said. He claimed that the U.S. has come out better in the long run against every country that has retaliated in a trade deal.

Cohost Ainsley Earhardt acknowledged that steel, aluminum, iron, clothing, perfume, appliances, dairy products, electronics and other everyday items are about to go up 15-50%.

But then she lectured that it’s all just a matter of buying what you can afford. “If you need a washing machine and you go to Home Depot … whatever your budget is, you're going to choose the one that's within reason, you know, within your budget,” she chirped.

Apparently, it’s inconceivable to her that Americans are already struggling to afford essentials.

Earhardt threw a bone to known MAGA supporters. “We do feel sorry for the farmers. The beef farmers are already going through so much, and this is going to increase on fertilizer too,” she said. “But hopefully they can come to an agreement and work something out soon.” And what are they supposed to do in the meanwhile? She didn’t say.

“Yeah, I think what's important is informally they've reapproached,” Kilmeade said. Then he started gushing over Trump’s supposed negotiating skills “He uses the tariffs to get their attention, and then he goes in and talks.”

He went on to pretend it’s all about making sure products sold in the U.S. are built here, like the Bombardier planes. Apparently, Kilmeade was so busy shoving his nose up Trump’s patootie, he never noticed that Bombardiers are built in the U.S.

Of course, nobody mentioned that Donald Trump was elected on a promise to bring prices down, not to start trade wars and tariffs.

Brian Kilmeade desperately spins Canada's new retaliatory tariffs on the US: "It adds about $20 billion. That sounds like a lot of money, but according to a source within the administration, it's .06% of our economy, and it's a lot more to theirs."
