Whiskey Pete Hegseth, the guy who likes to posture as some super warrior – but can’t do his job without his mommywife - doesn’t seem to have the stones to own up to the human costs of the Iran war.

On Friday, The Washington Post broke the news that the Hegseth Pentagon has failed to acknowledge at least four, maybe five more American military deaths as the result of the Iran war. That is according to “six U.S. officials familiar with the Defense Department’s internal casualty accounting data,” The Post said. Five of the six counted 22 military fatalities (four more than the 18 in the Pentagon database) while the sixth said the number is 23. So far.

Those officials “expressed frustration” over the Pentagon’s failure to count the deaths in its casualty database properly, The Post said.

“Not all of the undisclosed deaths are directly tied to the conflict,” The Post said. Some “were in the Middle East amid ongoing hostilities,” a source told the paper.

On top of that, three U.S. contractors based in the region have also died during the war, according to The Post’s sources.

This is not the first time Whiskey Pete’s Pentagon has been caught changing its death statistics. In July, Conover Kennard reported on four deaths mysteriously disappearing from the Pentagon casualty list, though they seem to have been reinstated since then.

A correct count matters not just because Americans deserve an accurate tally of the human costs of Trump’s extremely unpopular war. But, as The Post explained, “Whenever a U.S. service member dies, the military conducts a line of duty investigation to determine whether the death occurred while performing official duties. Those findings affect the survivor benefits for which service members’ families are eligible.”

Unsurprisingly, “The Pentagon declined to address questions about the accounting discrepancy,” The Post reported. Maybe it has not yet found an excuse to blame former President Joe Biden, Democrats, or Hasan Piker for the additional deaths.

After all, the truth might undercut President Draft Dodger’s claim that the deaths he has caused are a "drop in the bucket." Also, we know he thinks fallen soldiers are just “suckers and losers.”
