Friend or foe, no one is safe from being ragged on by Donald Trump, and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is finding that out the hard way.
Trump has a long-standing history of dragging down anyone around him in an attempt to elevate himself, reminiscent of a middle school playground bully, because God knows the man can claim no superiority on merit alone.
During this week's "Trumpapalooza" midterm convention in Dallas, it seems the Texas AG somehow became the president's main target.
On Wednesday, Trump repeatedly hammered at Paxton, who is trying his damnest to replace Texas' retiring Senator John Cornyn and will face the fiery Democrat James Talarico in November. The president took to the stage and dogged on everything from the way he looks to the way he talks to the way he dresses, comparing it to criticism he has been subjected to:

But apparently one roasting wasn't enough, as the president turned around and did it all over again on Thursday's leg of the event, telling the crowd that his own staff had begged him not to dunk on the Texas AG again, but of course, he did it anyway.
"I don't know if he'll ever talk to me again. Perhaps he will," Trump told the crowd last night. "I don't like the way Ken dresses!"
But this time, the camera captured Ken's reaction to the president's second impromptu roasting in two days, and suffice it to say, I don't think Ken thought it was too funny.
As the camera pans over to the Texas AG, we see Paxton wearing a forced, awkward smile that melts into a grimace as he anxiously shifts around:

The man was undeniably uncomfortable, yet he kept standing there and taking it like a good boy.
It's giving Ted Cruz vibes.
I couldn't tell you why the president is suddenly so hung up on Paxton, but the midterm event was far from the first time Trump has lobbed public insults at the GOP Senate candidate.
Just last week, during a White House Rose Garden event, Trump did the same exact thing, dogging on Paxton's clothes, appearance, and his TV interviews before finally pivoting into a few breadcrumbs of praise for the guy:

He insulted Paxton yet again that same day in the Oval Office and again in an interview on the Lt. Dan Podcast.
Paxton is certainly a terrible human being who deserves to be insulted every time he dares to show his face in public -- considering he was impeached by the TX House in 2023 on charges of bribery and corruption, and only had his ass saved by the Senate, and has long been plagued by his history of alleged marital infidelity that led to his nasty divorce. But all that seems like reasons Trump would want to hire him for a Cabinet position, not shit-talk him every time his name comes up.
