Republican Senator John Kennedy was as baffled as the rest of us by the FBI Director's changing requirements for becoming an FBI agent related to bestiality.
How can a human be a victim of bestiality? Did the dog kidnap a person and force itself on them? Kash Patel's answers are mind-boggling.
Sen. Kennedy asked Director Patel to clarify why he did this.
KENNEDY: What about the bestiality?
PATEL: Same thing. Because the regs wrote it up in a fashion before I arrived that addressed prostitution, bestiality, and trafficking. They were there before I got there.
KENNEDY: Tell me what it said before.
PATEL: It automatically disqualified any individual who participated on either side of it. Obviously we are never going to hire the criminal.
KENNEDY: The side of what? The bestiality?
PATEL: Yes.
KENNEDY: So you disqualified the animal.
PATEL: Well, I don't think we have great canines, but we are not going to disqualify them.
KENNEDY: I understand. I'm trying to understand why you did this.
Patel is so brain-dead he answered Kennedy's question about disqualifying an animal to join the FBI as if it made sense.
Now comes the comedy routine that is really just a pathetic, unqualified sycophant making a fool of himself. Rick Sanatorium might have been the only person taking this exchange seriously.
KENNEDY: Why would you even get into bestiality?
PATEL: We are not into bestiality, but a lot of these individuals...
KENNEDY: I know you're not, but you changed the qualifications and mentioned bestiality. If Joe participated in bestiality, not as the animal, but as the human, don't you think he ought to be disqualified?
PATEL: If he voluntarily did it, sure, but if he was trafficked into it...
KENNEDY: How do you involuntarily do it?
Kash's defense was that if you were sex-trafficked as a child, or under 18, and forced to have sex with an animal, you are still be eligible to apply to the FBI.
Huh? That response is insane.
KENNEDY: And when you saw bestiality, I say this with respect, the person who recommended it, why didn't you just say, what planet did you parachute in from?
Why do I want to leave with my chin and get into bestiality?
PATEL: That was my initial response, Senator, but they then explained to me and showed me cases in which people were forced into it and had applied to the FBI, and so I thought they should be considered.
No matter how Patel justifies this change in regs, it's crazy. The number of people being forced to have sex with animals by traffickers and then wanting to join the FBI has to be so insignificant that it's ludicrous to change FBI requirements over it.
So if a person who enjoys having sex with animals and is older than 18 wants to join the FBI, they can make the case for it. The FBI memo doesn't even state if you were a victim of sex trafficking.
This is the Trump administration at its finest.
