Senator Foghorn Leghorn is extremely unhappy about the fact that he's going to have to help defend what should have been some safe seats for them in the Senate:

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) lamented that he will be campaigning for Republican Senate candidates in “close” races in solidly red states. [...]

On Thursday, reporters caught up with Kennedy outside the Capitol, where he told them he never thought he would be fundraising and campaigning for Republican Senate candidates in red states.

Why he's surprised, given how unpopular Dear Leader is, is beyond me, but here's his statement to reporters:

KENNEDY: I'm going to Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa to help raise money and campaign for our very good candidates. If you told me six months ago I was going to be having to spend my time in those three states, I wouldn't believe you.

Those ought to be fat guy layups for us. Now we're going to win there, but the races are close.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that.

As the Mediaite post reported:

Polls consistently show Trump’s net approval rating upside-down, and Republicans trail Democrats on the generic congressional ballot by eight points. Democrats will need to net four seats to retake the Senate, which, according to Cook Political Report, is a distinct possibility.

In this political climate, all bets are off with the polling. Kennedy and the rest of them know it, which is why they're running around the country trying to save their friends. What astounds me is that anyone would want this fake goober campaigning for them in the first place.
