Donald J. Trump’s crybaby campaign to win a Nobel Peace Prize came to a screeching halt when the coveted award was given to Navi Pillay, a South African jurist and former United Nations human rights chief, who chaired the UN commission that concluded Israel had committed genocide in Gaza.
Well, Trump's campaign came to an end, but he's still crying about it. Trump took to Truth Social to unleash a 600-word whiny complaint, saying he "should have won 8 Nobel Peace Prizes, not just 1."
"This is the woman who received the Nobel Peace Prize over the Great United States of America, whose Representative, ME, settled eight Wars, and many other things. I know nothing about this woman, and neither does anyone else!" he falsely wrote. "In fact, to the best of my knowledge, no one ever heard of her other than the fact that she, very obviously, hates Israel."
"I don’t know what the woman has done. I settled 8 Wars, with letters being sent from every President and Prime Minister from the countries that I helped to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, and I’m about to settle, or win, two more, Iran and, Russia/Ukraine," he insisted. "They’re both happening at breakneck speed but, forget them, it’s the 8 that I’ve already settled, any one of which, in particular, Pakistan and India, would be far more than necessary to win the Nobel Prize. In actuality, I should have won 8 Nobel Peace Prizes, not just 1."
"I saved more lives than anyone in History and, as Maria Corina Machado, a truly fine person, stated to the Media when she gave me her Nobel Prize of last year, “Donald Trump settled many Wars, and deserves the Nobel Peace Prize more than any person that has ever received it.” Based on my record of PEACE, a record like no one else has ever achieved, I agree!" he continued.
"Despite all of this, the Nobel Prize was given today to a liberal person who works at the United Nations, who nobody has ever heard of," he added. "In all of the Wars that I have settled, I never spoke to the United Nations—they were of no help. The United States of America, represented by me, as your President, should have received the Nobel Peace Prize, but didn’t. This is an indelible stain on Norway, one that will never be forgotten. The Nobel “Peace” Prize has been forever discredited by a handful of Radical Ideologues who are Anti-Democracy, and Enemies of Civilization!"
Then Trump kicked off his morning to cry some more.
"I settled 8 WARS, am close to ending or settling 2 more, got all of the Israeli hostages back, including the final 28, both living and dead, had hundreds of hostages, from countries all over the World, released and sent back home, won a war in Venezuela, and captured the violent dictator who so viciously ran that country, and stopped the number one state sponsor of terror, the Islamic Republic of Iran, from obtaining a Nuclear Weapon — AND MUCH MORE!" he wrote. "Yet, with all of that I, or the United States of America, did not get the Noble Peace Prize. WOW!"
The claim that he “saved more lives than anyone in History” is not supported by any clear, independently verifiable measure, but we know his administration is responsible for a lot of deaths after he launched an unnecessary war on Iran. When he said he's "close to ending or settling 2 more" wars, he's referring to Iran and Russia–Ukraine. That refers to anticipated outcomes, not completed achievements. The Washington Post reported on October 10 that both conflicts remained unresolved.
Helping negotiate a ceasefire or agreement is not the same as permanently ending a war. And claiming credit for a diplomatic outcome doesn't establish that you personally caused it.
