(Camera Obscura - pop melodrama from Glasgow . . really?)

Camera Obscura have been around since 1996, have undergone a few personnel changes in that time, but have maintained a consistent output of good songs and great production.

Tonight's track The World Is Full Of Strangers isn't off anything as far as I can tell, even though they've had a number of albums, singles and eps out since around 2000, this is a great track and I found it on their MySpace page. They classify themselves as pop melodramatic, Alternative. Alternative I get, but Melodramatic Pop I guess is in the ears of the beholder. All I know is, they're a good band with some great material.

And that defies classification.

Check out their MySpace page and have a listen to their other stuff. They are currently on tour in the States and should be gigging at a club near you almost any minute now.
