This makes the third appearance on The Roundtable by the Argentine cult singer and artist Rosario Blefari. Since we're in a Buenos Aires state of mind today (with fellow countryman Astor Piazzolla earlier today on the Mid-Week Concert), I thought I would add another side to the rich musical landscape that is Argentina. Well, pretty much all of South America.
Tonights track comes by way of a live appearance on a Buenos Aires variety TV program in 2009. As far as I know, Reservado isn't on an album or single. But it certainly should be. This is a wonderful song loaded with charming simplicity, made all the more poignant by the unmistakable voice of Rosario Blefari.
Although she's been primarily known for her Power Pop and Post-Punk/Experimental material, Blefari's Reservado is a sweet and totally disarming detour and one which I've played over and over quite a lot lately.
Hopefully you may feel the same way too and give her some support by a visit to her MySpace page. I haven't seen anything new coming from her lately and I hope that's only a lull in activity.
