The Story of Broke

My kingdom for a reasonable discussion of what's truly broken in our country. We are the wealthiest country in the world and yet we can't afford to take care of our poor, our elderly, our sick, our children or our returning vets, all collateral damage on the pathway to absurd corporate wealth. Yet again, there's no one lined up this Sunday that I feel confident will lay out just how broken our system is. The horribly nauseating Penn State pedophilia case has forced the shows to call on Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett to reassure us that despite the fact that to this moment, there are still people out there more concerned about protecting a football program than children from being raped, they are absolutely committed to justice in Pennsylvania. Christiane Amanpour will have on a panel who will continue to tell us that even though foreign policy experts think it's the exact opposite of the right move to make, we must be forward march to war with Iran. Bachmann will have her own brand of nuttiness with David Gregory and Jon Huntsman will plead his case to be GOP flavor of the month with Bob Schieffer. Keep a special eye on those Fox News guys, though. It looks like an entire show devoted to the Penn State scandal, and since they reliably take the opposite slant from all that's good and righteous, I expect fully for them to suggest that those kids had it coming and JoePa really shouldn't be blamed for not going to the police for more than ten years.
