Or Liz "CheeNee", as Chris Matthews likes to say.

I hate to even acknowledge Cheney's existence, because she already gets plenty of play from the corporate media for no apparent reason other than her gene pool and her ready mean streak.

But even Republicans are saying Lizzie "Borden" Cheney has crossed the line with her bloody little ax this time.

And Rachel's Beckesque rant about it is pretty funny - and educational.

The Cheney family is nothing but a clan of vampires, sucking blood, money and sanity from a tattered democracy left weakened by far too many years of their twisted influence.

And of course, you know who that makes Rachel.

That is how to handle Liz Cheney. Now, if you would be so kind as to loan Obama and Holder a pair, maybe we can actually get something done besides caving to the Cheney family. Dems will continue to look too weak to handle national security as long as they display such a stunning inability to stand up for their own ideals and decisions in so many other areas.

She hits the nail on the head. Best journalist working in the USA today - and the smartest. She's a wonder and a treasure.

Nicely done, Rachel!

It reminded me of John Belushi's tirades on SNL weekend update. I expected her at any moment to bellow "But Noooooooooooooooooooooooo".

But the whole Willow thing should probably be rewritten, and who gets to be Faith? She's a doll.

More intelligence in her quizzically cocked eyebrows than in all of the reich wing's mushy craniums put together.

A treasure, indeed.

No.

So how did Sarah Michelle Gellar get the part?

Diabolus est Deus Inversus

By being a competent actress.

I was never able to sit through an entire episode.

And I noticed you chose the word competent rather than talented or even interesting

Diabolus est Deus Inversus

Not to get into an argument about things that don't really matter all that much, but...

I found her both talented and interesting in Buffy. She had a good rep from some of her pre-Buffy work, including winning an Emmy. I'd say that, rather than your rather sleazy insinuation that she blew some producer, contributed to her getting the work.

And I noticed that you said a show, that you've never seen a full episode of, sucked. Way to form an opinion.

That's because each episode I tried to watch sucked...

Buffy fans are getting as pathetic as Twilight fans.

Diabolus est Deus Inversus

Aw ysbaddaden, I thought more of ya.

Buffy's story was a damn good illiteration of how high school/freshman college/joining the workforce while fighting evil sucks for most people. There was a lot of great social commentary throughout the seven year run of the show.

Sorry you didn't care for it, but if makes you feel better, as much as I loved Buffy, I hate Twilight...

Illustration or alliteration?

Diabolus est Deus Inversus

Sorry ysbaddaden. I should have used allegory, not illiteration, my error

maybe, but the actual show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (not hunter) was quite good...

Given enough time it looks as though Liz Cheney could turn out to be even worse than her father. That's difficult to believe, but she is already such a fascist POS.

one of the hallmarks of fascism is turning the other into some kind of animal, or sub-human, that needs to be eradicated.

miss lizzie, beck, et.al. are doing just that, attaching labels - making accusations of disloyalty, painting the obama administration as terrorist symps, sister sarah did it during the campaign.

obama seems to think by playing it cool he can defuse the situation, he is mistaken, time to grow a pair and take these people on, or he will be destoyed.

same for this country.

I can see a lot of similarities between the democrats and the Weimer Republic in Germany dealing with the right just before the rise of the Nazis. A strong response is needed but yet we are getting Neville Chamberlain instead!

The art of leadership. . . consists in consolidating the attention of the people against a single adversary and taking care that nothing will split up that attention. . . . The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belonged to one category.

I fear the Republicans getting back in power again because they will make W's rein with Uncle Dick look soft and cuddly

I wish the Dems would accept that this is an all out war. You can't win a war staying only on the defensive. You have to go on the offensive to win.

do you want to bet Slize will be on the talk shows tomorrow?

She's smart enough to know that she's not smart enough to debate Rachel.

Good segment overall but Rachel shouldn't toss around the word jihad as if it is something inherently bad because it isn't. Jihad has been narrowly defined by the media as meaning "holy war" in an effort to portray Islam as an inherently violent religion, but as is the case with many words, jihad has other less threatening definitions such as "spiritual struggle." Fasting, for example, is considered jihad.

Rachel deserves praise for calling out Liz Cheney on her lies, but the fact that Rachel has contributed to the media's unwavering campaign against Islam by using the word jihad as a pejorative is regrettable.

Mike V.'s picture

but you have to look at the context in which it was used..

Why all the worry about foreign terrorists when we have the Cheney and Bush crime families openly operating in this country ? Simply the deranged daughter of a Vice President , of a criminal and a madman ( who brainwashed and programmed her ) and she's all over the MSM as if she is somebody of importance . It's that liberal media bias again , damn those people !

Liz is a Teutonic twat. She's trying to be the fat Coultergeist.

No contest.Rachel has integrity, honesty, and honor going for her. There is no honor in the Cheney clan;only power derived from malicious deceit and all the criminality that goes along with murder, torture, cover
ups, lying, shaming, blaming, smearing, and scapegoating.Liz is truly honor less. It`s a Republican family value.
Good job ,Rachel. We need more like you and Alan Grayson

The Cheney Gang shouldn't be calling anyone anything. They should be restrained by court order to stop advocating terrorism in response to other entities that commit terrorism.

It doesn't matter who does the bombing. A terrorist is what a Cheney does.

The Cheney gang has been consumed by extremism, and they have fallen. The Cheneys and their deciples have adopted the ways of the devil.

Liz may as well keep falling now... A position of credibility in American culture is no longer tenable.

How many more people will Dick Cheney pull down with him...

The Big Dick said years that his family says, "Cheenee," but it never caught on. Kinda like the "Roosfelt" family got and still gets called, "Rose-a-velt."

Love what Rachel has done here... but please in the name of all things progressive.. STOP making Buffy references.
It drops the site's IQ points by three or four factors and diminishes the great work that Rachel does against neo-cons.

Buffy was a teenage wonk fest and the further we get from it, like Twilight, the happier we'll all be.
Please... seriously begging here... I'll make you cookies if you just stop.

I'm in for cookies and Buffy boycot.

So it looks like there will be a lot of openings in the public defenders offices across the country, after all, if you defend a murderer you must be one yourself.

That's precisely why Cheney thinks the American justice system must be replaced by the Cheney justice system.

And that's why Liz will have to stand with her father for his crimes of torture and murder, just as she would have others do.

It seems funny to me just typing this... knowing it's not just a bad dream, and that it really happened.
