C&L's Late Nite Music with Bernard Herrmann and Alfred Hitchcock

Alfred might very well be my favorite director of all time. Bernard Herrmann's music had as much influence on the great Hitchcock films as any one of his stars did as far as I'm concerned. I'm posting two clips that have some of his best work. One from Psycho and one from Vertigo.

Wikipedia: Bernard Herrmann (June 29, 1911December 24, 1975) was a composer who is generally regarded today as one of the greatest of all film composers. Although Bernard Herrmann is particularly known for the scores he did for Alfred Hitchcock's films, he also composed fine scores for many other movies including Citizen Kane, Cape Fear and Taxi Driver as well as for the original sensational radio broadcast of Orson Welles' The War of the Worlds and a number of TV programs."

Another cool score is from the Sci-Fi classic: "The Day the Earth Stood Still"

Stephen Rebello's "Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho" is a great read. CNN provides a free look at Chapter Three.

I really enjoyed Esa-Pekka Salonen's, Bernard Herrmann recording if you want to listen to very good collection.
