The man known for tweeting quotes from Winnie the Pooh and Mahatma Gandhi is suddenly a hawk on Iran.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) has thrown his support behind a Senate bill that calls for future sanctions to Iran if White House negotiations over the country’s nuclear programs break down.

President Obama said he will veto the bill if it gets to his desk. Iran scholars say the bill is little more than empty rhetoric. And one liberal commentator accused Booker of being “nakedly covetous of national attention.”
