TRENTON — Many longtime Republican donors and fundraisers are reconsidering their intentions to back Gov. Chris Christie for president in 2016 now that former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush appears to be more seriously weighing whether to enter the race, according to a report by the New York Times.
Even Christie Whitman, the former Republican New Jersey governor, said having to pick between Christie and Bush "would be very awkward," according to the report.
