Here's your so-called "liberal media" in action folks. From this Sunday's Weekends with Alex Witt on MSNBC. During a discussion about the upcoming Benghazi circus otherwise known as their select committee that Boehner finally agreed to, the National Journal's Elahe Izadi was asked about whether the Democrats should have participated in the hearing at all and why they eventually chose to do to.
Following her voicing her amazement that the chairs Elijah Cummings and Trey Gowdy are even speaking to each other when compared to how things have been going with Cummings and Issa, here's what the viewers were treated to.
WITT: How political do you think is the timing here though of this review? I mean, it's been about twenty months or so since the attack on the consulate in Benghazi, but the timing of this committee and the investigation now
IZADI: Yeah, I mean, it comes up again ahead of the mid-terms. This is an issue that rallies the Republican conservative base that care a lot about it. But Republicans do have to be careful, because they can't make this seem too political. And already they've been accused and criticized for it.
There have been some Republican groups the Republican Congressional Committee that have been fundraising off of this. So, they really have to toe a fine line, because if it does come off as overtly political it could backfire.
If it comes off as "overtly political"..?!?!?! Are you kidding me? I'm sorry, but that ship has sailed a long, long time ago. Anyone still pretending that this isn't all about politics doesn't deserve to put the title journalist in front of their name.
