A caution for those with a weak stomach; former Navy Seal Scott Taylor began this interview with the words,
'Thank you Tucker, it's great to be with you.'
Just the simple utterance of such an awful sentence elicits the gag reflex in the most iron constitutions. It served as a warning that the next three minutes would be filled with the typically anti-Obama, anti-tolerance rhetoric we can expect from Carlson and his guests.
Donald Trump, the man who now has Fox News working for him, spoke slanderously spoke about Bowe Bergdahl, the soldier who spent five years with the Taliban as a prisoner of war, whose release sparked controversy as he was traded for 5 very dangerous Taliban POWs.
Fox News has engaged in a campaign to purposely malign Bowe Bergdahl. Trump uttered inflammatory and slanderous comments that Bergdahl is
'a dirty, rotten traitor. Who by the way, when he deserted, six. young. beautiful. people. were killed. Somebody said the other day, 'well, he had some psychological problems,' you know, the old days, (making a shotgun gesture) bing, bong.'
So the army sends this man into Afghanistan who quickly became disillusioned by the war. From Bergdahl's writings:
"I have seen their ideas and I am ashamed to even be american. The horror of the self-righteous arrogance that they thrive in. It is all revolting."
Ignoring this reality, Fox 'News' and their bff, Donald Trump have the sensitivity of sociopaths and blindly endorce the jingoistic stupidity that got us into these pointless wars.
Eugene Fiddell, Bergdahl's attorney, believes that Bergdahl deserves the sensitivity that should be afforded to anyone who survived five awful years in Taliban custody. Scott Taylor doesn't understand how Susan Rice could have said that Bergdahl served with honor. The former SEAL thinks that no one should have the slightest problem with Donald Trump's comments. In his opinion, Bergdahl should have been charged with some sort of desertion crime.
In order to have a chance at proving defamation against Trump, they showed this graphic.
Since Fox 'News' is engaged in a defamation campaign, no one in their audience or on the payroll can imagine that Bergdahl deserves a fair shake during the long recovery that he faces. In the court of GOP public opinion, Bergdahl must be bad because his release was brokered by the evil, Kenyan Usurper: Barack Obama. Case closed!
