From this Friday's Real Time With Bill Maher's Overtime segment, which airs live on You Tube immediately following the live airing of the show on HBO, feminist icon Gloria Steinem didn't hold back during a discussion about the vast difference between the level of discourse at the Democratic debates compared to the food fights we've seen on the Republican side when it comes to her disdain for her fellow New Yorker, Donald Trump.

STEINEM: Can I as a New Yorker – you're no longer a New Yorker – can I just say a word about Trump as a New Yorker?

MAHER: Please.

STEINEM: He is not a successful businessman. […]

He is not a successful businessman. He is a conman. He is a conman.

(crosstalk)

That is wrong. If he had taken the $200 million he inherited from his father – he was born on third base and thinks he hit a home run – you know...

MAHER: Absolutely.

STEINEM: If he had taken the same amount of money and invested it, he would have made more money than he has now. He went bankrupt three times. (crosstalk) Yes. It's true.

MAHER: First of all we don't know that because we'll never know how much money he has because he's a giant bombastic liar. […]

STEINEM: Many economists have looked at this and said that he is not a successful businessman, and if he had invested his... […]

No. He is not a successful businessman. He just leases his name and puts it on buildings. […]

I am so ashamed to come from the same city that he is such a (inaudible.) […]

WILLIAMS: What does it say about the people who support Trump?

STEINEM: I think they're looking for somebody... the primary thing they say is he's a successful businessman and therefore he can run the country, which is why I think we need to know, he is only a conman, not a successful businessman.

As much as I agree with Steinem, don't expect anything like this to make a dent when it comes to his supporters.
