October 4th, 2017 marks the 60th anniversary of the day the Russian government launched Sputnik I, the world's first artificial satellite, into space. It wouldn't take long for songs about it to follow.

Released in late 1957, Rochester, New York's Jerry Engler wondered about what it would be like to orbit the planet with his outerspace gal by his side.
