This week marks the 40th anniversary of former New York Doll Johnny Thunders first solo record LAMF.

Backed by his Heartbreakers (who, due to egos and addictions, lasted for about a year give or take which pretty much allowed Tom Petty to keep the name without much hassle or legal wrangling...not that Johnny would've hired a lawyer or could even afford one) I've lost track how many times I've heard this record through years. I've also (thankfully) lost track how many bands I've seen completely ape the sound and image of this record and just not do it right.

What are you listening to tonight?
