This may be a bigger story than Manafort, hard as that is to believe.

Former Trump foreign affairs adviser George Papadopoulis was secretly arrested in July of this year, and has confessed to lying to the FBI. Not just about contacts with Russia, but about the timeline of when he went to work for Trump.

The unsealed statement (PDF) is an agreement between Papadopoulis and FBI officials.

He's confessed and is cooperating with the FBI. That's very significant. And one of his Russian contacts was "Putin's niece?"

Watch this space. This could be the bigger news of the day.
