Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas appears to be protecting his wife, conservative activist Ginni Thomas, from any consequences for her efforts to try to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. On Monday, Justice Thomas's dissent shows just how far he's willing to go to cover for his wife, who attended the Stop the Steal rally on January 6 before all hell broke loose.
Arizona Republican Party Chair Kelli Ward -- who served as a fake elector for Donald Trump in her state -- would very much like to stop the House Select Committee investigating the events of January 6, 2021, from examining her cellphone records.
The Supreme Court cleared the way on Monday for the committee to obtain Ward's phone and text records. However, there were two Justices that weren't down with that,
CNN reports:
Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito would have agreed to block the subpoena, the court said.
The move is the latest dispute concerning January 6 to come before the conservative-leaning court. Last January, the high court cleared the way for the release of presidential records from the Trump White House to the committee. Only Thomas publicly noted a vote in favor of Trump.

This is the second time Thomas has indicated that he would intervene to hamper the committee's efforts to investigate the plot to overturn the 2020 election in which his wife, Ginni Thomas, played a role
Thomas previously was the lone justice to dissent from the court's refusal to block the release of White House records held by the National Archives to the January 6 Committee. It was later revealed in March that his wife had been in communication with White House officials about Trump's machinations to overturn President Joe Biden's victory.
Text messages between Trump's former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Ginni Thomas revealed the justice's wife to be enraptured by baseless conspiracy theories about election fraud and involved in plotting with the White House to overturn Trump's loss.
The Supreme Court has lost any legitimacy that it once had. Justice Thomas should, and stay here with me for a sec, do his job and uphold the oath he took. Ginni Thomas isn't going to stop her bad behavior. She's made that very clear.
