Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) represents a red district where he can pretty much say outrageous things, and that's OK with his constituents. Jackson has a big mouth and opens it to unleash lies and conspiracy theories. One of those lies is that vice presidents cannot declassify documents, but that's not true.
In an interview with Newsmax, Jackson claimed that the recent documents that Biden's people discovered on his property "happened when he was the vice president" and added that "he had had no more authority to walk out of the white house with any of those documents."
Hold on there, you big clown.
Via Snopes:
Under a 2009 Obama-era executive order titled "Classified National Security Information" the vice president does have the power to declassify documents while they're in office. The order states: "The authority to classify information originally may be exercised only by: (1) the President and the Vice President [...]," as well as "agency heads and officials designated by the President."
Nevertheless, he persisted.
"Oh, I can't even imagine this is the part that concerns me," he asked. "Can you imagine how many how many good drugs and how many, you know, hookers and, you know, sweet monthly paychecks those documents could have bought if Hunter had those and apparently had access to him?"
Ronny should never talk about hookers and drugs since he was known as the Candy Man for handing out prescription drugs on airplanes and whatnot.
The Department of Defense inspector general issued a scathing review in 2021 of Jackson during his time serving as Trump's White House physician, "concluding that he made "sexual and denigrating" comments about a female subordinate, violated the policy for drinking alcohol while on a presidential trip and took prescription-strength sleeping medication that prompted concerns from his colleagues about his ability to provide proper care."
It's always projection with Republicans.
