Trump supporters have lashed out at Bud Light, boycotting the brand that their hero Donald J. Trump owns up to $5 million in Anheuser-Busch stock. Kid Rock shot cases of Bud Light with a gun while failing to mention a resurfaced photo of him drinking Bud Light with a drag performer. Also, the parent company of Bud Light, Anheuser-Busch, is one of the largest donors to the National Republican Congressional Committee.
And they boycotted the brand because it was promoted by trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney, who has more than 10 million followers on TikTok and nearly 2 million on Instagram.
Trump remained silent throughout this ordeal, but Don Jr. said, "I'm not for destroying an American, an iconic company for something like this."
He added that the company doesn't "participate in the same woke garbage that other people in the beer industry actually do."
Yeah, it's not about the millions in stock, huh?
Independent reports:
According to data reviewed by The Independent, it's possible that Mr. Trump's reluctance to criticize the company that makes the middling American beverage stems from his personal financial interests.
Mr. Trump's most recent financial disclosure shows he holds a significant financial interest in Anheuser-Busch InBev, the company that produces Bud Light.
The disclosure form, which is on file with the Federal Election Commission, shows the twice-impeached former president owns between $1m and $5m in Anheuser-Busch InBev stock under an account listed as "DJT Trust — Investment Account #2".
Anheuser-Busch has made political contributions to some politicians who have supported anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. I don't think they've thought this out.
