Trump loyalist Rick Grenell bashed Rep. Dan Goldman on Twitter for the outrageous crime of fundraising for his campaign, but his attack lines define Trump more than Goldman.
Goldman is an heir to the Levi Strauss company, but actually received a Juris Doctor degree with distinction from Stanford Law School in 2005 and became a federal prosecutor in the Southern District of New York. Goldman is as far from a Donald Trump as one could be.
Trump glommed onto his daddy's real estate empire and now is supposedly "a billionaire."
Sure, Trump worked his father's empire into a TV career, but without Daddy, how would Trump have earned his money? And although a presidential election is intense, why is a Congressman not allowed to raise funds for their campaign?
Grenell should explain why a billionaire needs to raise campaign funds and legal fees off the backs of his supporters. And then redirect funds to a political action committee to cover his legal fees.
That's the bigger question.
