It's bad enough when we see Republicans try to blame Democrats for the disarray in their own party. Now we've got MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell and Kristen Welker joining in. MSNBC daytime is almost as bad as Fox on a regular basis, and segments like this one are the reason why.

Here's Mitchell and Welker pretending that there's any reason for a single Democrat to ever vote for a Republican for Speaker, both siding the "chaos" in "Congress" and refusing to use the word "Republican" when it applies. I also think it's long past time for Andrea Mitchell to retire, because her initial question to Welker was very incoherent. The woman has been filmed falling asleep in front of the cameras, and this wasn't a whole lot better.

MITCHELL: Kristen, Brian was just saying is that they need a majority of the conference, but if Steve Scalise cannot get a majority of the conference, what then? Are there Democrats who would join to make Steve Scalise, rather than Jim Jordan, who was, of course, the firebrand, who... the White House so outraged during the impeachments of Donald Trump?

WELKER: That's going to be the big question, and of course, that was the big question when the vote for Kevin McCarthy was held. Would Democrats defend him? They of course, did not, and that's why he was ousted.

So of course, attention will turn to Democrats. Of course one of the elements that makes this moment so unique, in addition to the discord and the chaos that we are seeing unfold, is the pressure that is on House Republicans right now to get a Speaker in tact.

You heard President Biden when he was speaking from the White House yesterday. He called for urgent action from Congress to address this crisis. All eyes are on the US government right now. How will it respond to Israel, and of course that includes Congress.

There's no active ask for more aid, but they're not in a position to vote for more aid if that ask comes in. So that's where the pressure point is going to be on this Andrea.

Ladies and gentlemen, your replacement for Chuck Todd. Sadly, she's filling that role quite nicely right now. Just as useless as he was.
