Brendan Carr can't punish Kristen Welker for uttering a true statement, but he's sure going to try to nail her for something.

You may recall that in late August Welker made the true statement that Trump's endorsement results have been "mixed," which sent Hair Furor into a screaming rage whereupon he called upon his FCC goon to "punish her."

Trump loves to punish women. I'm sure we'd see more evidence of that if we ever saw the Epstein files. But I digress.

Brendan Carr made an appearance on Fox News with Peter Doocy, who asked him whether or not he was going to carry out Hair Furor's wishes for some "punishment" for the Black woman who spoke truth on NBC's air waves.

Carr, acting in his capacity as Hair Furor's endorser, said, "Well, one thing that President Trump gets fundamentally is that broadcast TV is completely different than other forms of distribution, including cable. And so many broadcasters right now, they want to break the deal that they cut with the American people."

Oh, I see. Telling the truth is somehow betraying the deal they have for public airwaves?

Carr continued, "They get billions of dollars in taxpayer effectively subsidized distribution. And what they're supposed to do in exchange is operate in the public interest, not some sort of narrow partisan interest."

I'm still not seeing where saying someone has "mixed endorsement results" is at all partisan, but that's just me. We know he does, in fact, have mixed results.

We also know that some Republicans are erasing him from their campaign websites and running away from him as fast as their little corrupt feet will carry them.

Laughably, Carr did not actually address what Welker said. Instead, he went after "fake polls." I agree that fake polls are a blight on the landscape of our politics, but you know what's even worse? Fascist threats against our free press.

"And so the FCC may put guidance out soon to remind broadcasters about their obligations with respect to not airing fake polls, particularly if they're done to suppress people heading into the fall," he warned as his parting shot.

Sure, put out the guidance on fake polls. And while you're at it, ban prediction markets from political broadcasts, too, since they're no more predictive of an outcome than who's throwing money at that outcome at any given time.

This little twerp is nothing more than Trump's handmaiden of chaos, and the sooner we can rein him in, the better.
